Harry Bowman passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 11, 2019 at home surrounded by his family. He was born August 8, 1945 in Trenton to Charles and Julia (Bozoyak) Bowman. Harry is survived by his wife of 51 years, Joanne, their son and daughter-in-law, Damon and Susan Bowman, and three grandsons Cameron, Matthew and Sean. He was preceded in death by his brother David and is also survived by his brothers and sisters-in-law, C.W. & Ruthie Bowman of Columbia SC, Karen Bowman of Vincentown NJ, George "Sam" Bowman of Maple Shade NJ, Robert & Teresa Bowman of Juliustown NJ, and Mark & Kim Bowman of Columbus NJ.

Harry was a 1964 graduate of Bordentown High School and married Joanne Adams in 1967. After serving in the NJ National Guard during the late 1960s Harry and Joanne added to their family with the birth of their only son, Damon, in 1971. In early 1972 they moved to their new house in Cookstown where he would spend nearly all his life. Harry worked for a number of lumber yards and home improvement companies where he developed a reputation as the man you went to when you needed things to be set right in your organization. Harry lived life on his terms took pride in throwing himself into his work even if it meant temporarily leaving the country to get the job done. In late 1989 he agree to take control of a home improvement center based in St. Thomas in the Virgin Islands where he lived for the next decade before returning home to New Jersey for good as grandchildren came into his life. Harry spent the last decade and a half of his life puttering around in his back yard, playing chess and enjoying cold beverages with friends at the Chesterfield Inn and building up his energy to take exhausting vacations with his grandsons.
