Obituary

Rose Marie Lynch (Hartmann) age 89, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 9th, 2019 at home with her loving family by her side. Born in Trenton, on July 24th 1929, she was a lifelong resident of the Bordentown Community.

After graduating from the Saint Francis School of Nursing and studying at John Hopkins University, she became the head nurse of the pediatric ward at St. Francis Hospital. During that time she had met the love of her life, Joseph W. Lynch and they were married on October 25, 1952 at St Mary’s Church of Bordentown. Her love of babies never ceased as she decided to have her very own pediatric ward at home by being the mother to seven children. When her domestic duties became less, she began work at the Bordentown Elks Lodge 2085 as an administrative secretary / hostess and event coordinator for banquets and weddings. She performed her job with a tremendous amount of passion and pride and dedicated herself to her position. She guided the young kitchen helpers as if they were one of her own children and many have often referred to her as their second mom. Having so many children at home, when it came to slicing a cake for a wedding or event, she could cut it like no other, making sure there was enough for everyone. She found joy playing cards and scrabble with friends and spending winters in Indiantown Florida.

Daughter of the late George A. and Rose (Varley) Hartmann, she is predeceased by her siblings, George Hartmann Jr., Marguerite Hartmann Johnson, Raymond Hartmann and Grandson Kyle Lynch.
Rose is survived by her husband of 66 years Joseph W “Joe” Lynch, children, Joseph W. Lynch Jr (Denise), Patrick M. Lynch (Beverly), Michael T. Lynch (Mary), Kevin B. Lynch, Rose Marie Lynch-Foehr (Dan), Brian K. Lynch, and Charles B. Lynch (Merry Beth). Grandchildren, Megan Lynch, William Lynch, Katie Gross (Lynch), Marah Lynch, Justin Lynch, Bryan Lynch, Chris Foehr, Tyler Foehr, Jacob Foehr, Anna Foehr, Brian Lynch- Urbaniak, Jared Lynch, Taryn Freda (Lynch), Kara Steffen (Lynch), Colin Lynch, Padric Lynch and Ian Lynch. My memories of Nanny are of a loving and caring woman with a playful soul and a joy for life. She loved to play cards and board games with us grandkids, made us her special blueberry fritters, overfed our dog with treats, watched new movie rentals with us, and overall just loved spending time with us. And I loved spending time with my nanny. She was, as she said, the Rose to my Pop Pop's thorn. A sweet lady and a strong woman, a fierce caretaker of her flock. Though the last years of Nanny's life were arduous to say the least, it was not enough to cloud my memory of the fond memories that I still have of her. I know she is at peace now, and for that I am grateful. I love you Nan! Your grandson, Jake

Thank you for all you have done for me and the love you've shown me over the formative years of my life. You were the best needle giver there was and kept me as healthy as allowable for as sick a kid I was. I will always think of you when I see cheese doodle and a coke.

My prayers go out to the lynch family. There is a special place in my heart for Rose Marie Lynch treated me as if I were one of her own. As a little boy 9 years old she would feed me cinnamon and sugar toast on my way to the bus stop in the morning she made sure I had breakfast. Made the best Lebanon bologna and grilled cheese toasted sandwiches Took me on her family vacation to beach haven. Many fond memories spending time at that house hold. Michael cominski Hudson,Florida
